Union organisers and industrial advocates will tomorrow walk off the job when a long-running dispute with their union — and employer — comes to a head. Staff at the Public Sector Association, the NSW affiliate of the Community and Public Sector Union, will take industrial action, with fears its leadership is pushing through an enterprise agreement “fundamentally contrary” to collective bargaining. The PSU and staff have been negotiating on an enterprise agreement for three years, with an in-principle deal reached last year and subsequently ditched by the union’s general secretary Anne Gardiner, who instead proposed a non-union arrangement which was overwhelmingly rejected.
